BACKGROUND
Novo Nordisk Education Foundation with its mission in Changing Diabetes® organized a State Round Table along with State Health Society, Government of Bihar at Patna on 17 April, 2015. The objective of this State Round Table was to: Sensitize the policy makers and various stakeholders about the high impact of diabetes on an individual, the family, the community and the country as a whole Diabetes is kept on the top healthcare agenda of the state.
Creating Awareness in general public about diabetes and its complications
Building Capacity in Healthcare professional to screen, diagnose and manage diabetes
Provide better Treatment to people with diabetes.
The keynote presentations was followed by a high power interactive panel discussion involving representatives from State Government like State Programme Officers, Superintendents, Head of department of Medicine & Endocrinology, representatives from Public Health Institutes, UNICEF, WHO, JHPIEGO, local NGOs several Key Opinion Leaders in Diabetes from, private practice and media participated in the panel discussion which continued for more than two hour.
